Dublin City Council and Fingal County Council and Accoya have come together to create a ground-breaking development in Ballymun, Dublin. The North Dublin Operations Depot stands as one of the first low carbon Nearly Zero-Energy Building (NZEB) compliant constructions in the city.

Accoya’s vertical cladding beams and horizontal cladding played a pivotal role in achieving the project’s sustainable goals. The use of Accoya wood not only enhanced the aesthetic appeal of the depot but also contributed to its overall energy efficiency and sustainability.

To ensure long-lasting performance and protection, all Accoya wood components were made sure to be machined and coated with Teknos’ factory applied system. The coating further enhanced the durability of the wood, providing resistance against weathering and decay while minimising maintenance requirements.
